Design with Intent
Form follows function.
Louis Sullivan
God is in the details.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
I draw my product design approach from my training in architecture, where every element exists for a clear purpose and intentional impact within its context.
Always start with an understanding of the context—the system or ecosystem in which your design will exist—and never forget it. Conduct analysis and derive insights so that your design systematically and naturally fits within that context.
Have a clear concept—a big picture design direction that guides your work and aligns with product requirements or business objectives. This ensures your design is strategic and intentional. Use research to define the foundation of your strategy.
Every element has a purpose. Don’t include anything just because you like it. Strive for the perfect balance between usability, functionality, and feasibility. Think thoroughly hard.
See the design from the user’s perspective. Interview, build prototypes, and test. Don’t settle for one iteration—evolve your design continuously to get to the actual intent.
Consider the rules governing your design. Does it comply with the design system? Does it meet accessibility guidelines? Does it support the overarching user journey?
Deliver with craft and vision. Perfect the details, and present them so that everyone, not just you, can understand. Stay the course to guide your design to successful implementation.
Lead with People
Throughout my career and the leadership education I completed during my MBA, I’ve come to realize that people are the true driving force behind a team’s success. When your people are happy, your clients will be happy, and you will be happy. It’s a full cycle.
Whether I’m a manager or an individual contributor, I follow these leadership principles to foster collaboration, create a positive working environment, and achieve the best outcomes.
Freedom to accomplish on time and achieve the goals.
Equity to be heard and supported for who you are.
Excellence as the determined outcome to strive for.
Reciprocity as the glue that creates a positive culture.
Act with Vision
As a natural problem solver, I approach challenges as goals. Coming up with a clear vision help me develop the best strategies and tactics to achieve them.
If the goal is to reduce mental load and ensure others can quickly understand the current state, my vision is to keep everything clear and easy to follow. I rely on my natural organizational skills to structure design files, trackers, and documentation, embedding user experience principles into my day-to-day work.
If the goal is to move fast, my vision is to work smart. I can adapt my design process to the constraints and often use technology to accelerate delivery, such as vibe-coding tools or summarizing research analysis using AI.
